(IN)TAngible nature

This project was a competition entry for the 2016 Warming Huts competition that takes place annually in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The proposed structure is situated so that the prevailing winds encourages snow build up in the windward 'funnels' created by the structure's folded geometry. Solar gain from the sun then melts the captured snow and causes drips that fall through the carefully considered opening in the structure. This in turn form an ever-changing icicle formation within the centre of the hut. The intention is to give the user a tangible and existential reference to the ever-changing temporal and spacial conditions that are present in Winnipeg during the winter months.
