ABBY LAWSON

project manager
NSAA (intern architect), MArch, BEDS, B.A. & Sc.

Abby was born and raised in the mountains of Boulder, Colorado. She moved to Canada in 2014 to begin her academic studies on the West Coast. Abby completed a Bachelors of Liberal Arts and Sciences from Quest University in Squamish, British Columbia. After completing this foundational degree, she decided to pursue her long-lived dream of architecture and move east to attend Dalhousie’s professional architecture program in Halifax, Nova Scotia. In 2020, Abby completed a Bachelors of Environmental Design with distinction from Dalhousie University, followed by a Master of Architecture in 2022 which focused on the ecological impact that structures have on sensitive natural environments.

During her studies, Abby worked with Peter Braithwaite Studio as part of an 8-month co-operative work placement. Here she learned first hand knowledge of the architectural profession on the East Coast of Canada. After completing her Masters in April 2022 she went back to Peter Braithwatite Studio to work full-time as an intern architect and project manager.

Working at a design-build firm has allowed her to be immersed and gain knowledge in all facets of design and construction. Abby works with a skilled team of architects, designers, and carpenters to design award-winning projects across Canada.

When Abby is not doing architecture, she enjoys time spent outside exploring and birding.
